EP Golf Outing! The EP Golf Outing was a tremendous success as more than 80 EPs representing SEVEN decades of brotherhood enjoyed a magnificent day at the Grove City Country Club. By all accounts Tom Tuchnowski organized an outstanding event. Congratulations to our 2023 champions Bucky, Doc, Fletcher and Powless, who finished at an impressive -14 on a challenging course. Nine other teams posted -9 or better. In other news, Brian Lang was closest to the pin on #5, Pat Donoughe had the long drive on #8, Mike "Goo" McKee was closest to the pin on #13, and Marcus Macino had the long putt on #18. Art Lindquist and Paul "Fat Wally" Marshall won craft baskets, Jayme Russo bid highest for the home vault, and Art Lindquist scored tickets to the 2023 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony in Canton, Ohio (courtesy of new EPAA board member Kyle Heim). Special thanks to George Rogers (1989) and UC Graphics, who kindly donated the hole sponsorship signs and our hole sponsors: Jeffrey "Llewellyn" Burd, Brownie, "Athanasius" Hutch, Earl, Paul & Winnie, "Georgiapapulus" Tuck, DeMaio, Mateer, Manges & Farrell, John Ellis, Bob Miller, Nate Herring, Jim Palmer, Scott Tovissi, Jeffrey "Shengano Tonga" Laskey, Scott Mossgrove, Jerry Aubel, Jeff Cass, Marty Dietz, Jon Cherry, Jayme Russo, Brian Lang, and Mike Bartoo. Finally, a shout out to generous brothers who donated door prizes: Todd Powless, Grove City College, Jerry Aubel, Kyle Heim, and Doc Ellis. Be sure to sign up early next year for this extremely popular event.

We have 15 jacket sponsors, which is halfway to our goal of 30 jackets to outfit each Active and a small surplus for incoming freshman. Seniors would hand down jackets upon graduation. My wife, Becky, and I have been married for 12 years, and we have two beautiful and amazing daughters, Erica (9) and Lila (7). We live in Canonsburg, PA, and I am a Senior Key Account Sales Consultant with MSC Industrial Supply, where I have worked in sales for two decades, which is hard to believe. I was recruited to play football by W&J, Allegheny, Thiel, Waynesburg, and Grove City. I took overnight visits to both W&J and Allegheny, and while I thought highly of those schools they just didn't feel "right" to me. Upon visiting GCC, I was surprised at how much I liked the campus and the people. My chaperone was not an EP, so it was not an EP experience that convinced me to come to GCC. It was the beautiful campus, strong academic reputation, affordability, and the opportunity to play football were the driving forces behind me ultimately choosing GCC. Once at GCC, I instantly bonded with other football players during camp, including Active EPs or other incoming freshmen who were drawn to the EPs. After attending a few social events and learning more about the men of The Epsilon Pi Fraternity, I found that choosing to become an EP was actually one of the easiest decisions of my life, and I have never once, not even for a moment, regretted that decision. The friendships and bonds that were forged during the process of becoming an EP have remained strong, even 20 years after graduating. As far as favorite memory as an EP, there are too many to list. I always enjoyed our community service project, which was raking leaves with the Zetas to raise money for Christmas gifts for the kids at the Mercer County Head Start Program. Every week we visited homes in the Grove City area to rake in the cold, wind, rain, and even snow. On Tuesday mornings, a group of brothers would head out to Mercer and we would have the absolute best time playing games and doing activities with all of the kids. I was even lucky enough to get to be Santa Claus one year, so I got to see up close and personal what a difference our efforts made for these kids and their families. As college students, many of us were truly unaware of how much this program meant to those families, but getting to see the looks on all of the kids' faces, and to have their parents thank us all with tears in their eyes made every second we raked worth it. Sometimes, we wonder about how we could have made better choices, and how those choices may have altered the course of our lives. One thing that I never waiver on was my decision to choose to GCC and to join Epsilon Pi. Great men doing great things...BROTHERS WORKING FOR THE GOOD OF ALL.
