Featured Alumni: Chris Gibbs (2014)

I graduated in 2014, married my college sweetheart, Sandra (Kraynik), and moved to Minnesota. Four years later, after many lunches for advice and camaraderie with Killer a.k.a. Tom Haller, I graduated from Mayo Clinic School of Medicine in 2018. I am currently a Clinical Instructor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and will be pursuing a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Wake Forest next year. We have 5 kids (ages 1.5 to 7 years), who Sandra homeschools and a sixth child due in February. We live on the East side of Pittsburgh. When not working, we enjoy sports of all kinds, reading, time with our church congregation, and spending time together as a family.

I chose Grove City because of its rigorous Christian academics, affordable price, and the opportunity to play football. I knew I wanted to be a doctor in high school, and I was confident that Grove City would prepare me well for medical school.

I chose to be an EP because of the many friends, mostly from football, who were EPs. During freshmen year, my closest friends and I decided that we wanted to be a part of the most athletic group on campus who also enjoyed having fun, so we joined Epsilon Pi together.

One of my favorite memories as an EP was performing "500 Miles" in Greek Sing. We were the clear fan favorites, but we did not place much to the chagrin of the crowd. Watching Adam Brewer dressed up as a woman (with oranges as breasts) having to catch an orange and put it back in the dress in front of Dr. Jewell was particularly memorable.
